LuLu's Desperate House Dogs (formerly the Bow Wow Blog)

LuLu's Desperate House Dogs is a blog about an eccentric little Beagle named LuLu, who, along with her sister Sadie (a Whippet/Terrier/Beagle blend), writes the lurid Puppies in Lust series, and absorbs local color in an idyllic, off-the-leash, canine-centered village known as Lincoln Park~

Lily,
I apologize for my bad behavior earlier. It will not happen again. Please forgive me. I hope you are able to enjoy your walks with me in the future. You look beautiful in your costume! Thank all of you for your your kindness.
Gizmo and Meagan
P.S. If anyone is missing a Min-Pin, please let me know! Little Gizmo can be contacted through SICSA.

Meagan,

I can't speak for my friend Lily, although I sometimes do -- but I'm sure she's fine. As for Gizmo the Min-Pin, he seems like a very nice dog who has had some unlucky breaks of late. I also think he's a hunk, and you can tell him I said so. We so rarely get a non-neutered male in our midst, and it's a refreshing experience. At least I think so!

Hopefully Gizmo will wind up as my new neighbor and we'll really have a chance to get to know one another. He's welcome back in the group any old time -- and if you and your roommate have problems with him, just let me know. I'm great at handling dysfunctional situations. After all, I've been seeing Spencer since I was nine-weeks old~

Jean,

First of all, talk to your vet. I get the impression your dog's problem may be recent, and a simple change in her diet could make all the difference. Otherwise, you have two choices before you -- keep the poor dog in the kitchen, or keep your windows open all winter long~

Hi Gizmo, its me, Lily. Thank you for the nice card but you really didn't have to. I will still be your friend. I just think you are going thru a rough period right now and were overwhelmed by all of my friends at the park. By the way Lulu does not often speak for me. I always speak for my own self!

Lily,

Forgive me for speaking out of turn. Of course you always bark for yourself.

By the way, have you met the sizzling new Lab in the park? I think his name's Ka-Fu or something equally weird. I just LOVE Lab guys. Rocky is a hunk and Ka-Fu has such possibilities.

Of course, my heart still belongs to Spencer. Welll, Paco's also a hottie, and little Tucker can't keep his paws off me. Sigh. So many dogs and so little time.

Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling better. And it looks like you've made two hot conquests -- Gizmo and Manny the Mole~

Sorry to disappoint, but (un)fortunately, Gizmo/Sir Maximus Arelius of Cambridge has been returned to his real owner. Evidently, he has been gone for three weeks, and is now half the size of the min-pig he once was. I am sure he will miss all of you a lot! His owner was very happy to get him back, as his mate, Lady Minimus, as well as her other Yorkies (she is a breeder) and children missed him, as well as her sick husband. (I was right about his owner...kinda!) She is now considering a micro-chip. Enjoy your walks, and thank you for your company!

Meagan,

We're sorry to learn that Gizmo/Sir Maximus (O, I love a male with a title!)...will not be joining the group, but we're also glad that he's back with his pack.
I mean, he has a mate, and there are children who missed him. You truly did a good thing by offering to foster him and dogdom thanks you.

You are welcome to walk with the Waggin' Train any old time...and we look forward to the day when
you introduce another Gizmo to the group -- or perhaps a Juan or Chiquita~

Your wish will soon be answered. Meanwhile, just out of curiosity, is Lily paying you in dog biscuits, or what?

Sookie,

The guy who snores and passes gas is also a thief? Sweetie, Dear Abby I'm not -- but here's a little hound hint: DUMP HIM. If you need counseling, check your phone book for places to call. Your pompom sounds like an excellent judge of character, by the way. The dog figured out a long time ago that you're dating a serious loser. Take the dog's advice, and throw your boyfriend to the wolves -- figuratively, at least.

Ah, you creative, unashamed, and friendly Fraze walkers, there shall be a canine Halloween costume get-together, Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. with a rain date of Thurs., Oct. 27 at the Lincoln Park fountains.
This is an adult event-- so we can ensure that not all attendees shall want to be alpha dog or 'werewolves' that night.

C'mon out and show your friendly pooches 'other' side. My Lil Fraze "Nestle" shall be showing his 'devilish' side. Hope to see each of you Tuesday (or Thurs).

Sue,

I will make every effort to attend.
My guardian will be doing a radio spot on Tuesday afternoon and another one on Wednesday -- meaning that she's likely to be a tired ghoul, but I will keep nipping at her heels until she pays attention to me.

I'm not keen about attending in costume, though. Centuries ago, when I was Queen Elizabeth I of England, I had to wear way too many costumes, and these days I much prefer to show up au naturel.

Nestle will be costumed as the Devil? Hmmm. I do so like a hot male with cloven hooves. Maybe I could come as Lola from Damn Yankees? My guardian says the role fits my personality~

Anon,

That is a heart-shaped dog tag. My tongue is much cuter.

And pinker.

To all, and oh dear lulu:
you would be so missed tonight and Lily too. . .
in her "O, ladie faire' costume pink. And Spencer with his Maltese toy. A costume it matters not.
Perhaps you can get your guardian to come for just a few tonight along with others who post to you or walk the park.
Canine residents near the Fraze or who walk the park, costume or not, it matters not, tonite's the night. 7 p.m. near the fountains, unless the rain doesth return , then Thurs. it shall be.
IF time allows to let others know of this canine night would be grand.

Sue,

A good time was enjoyed by all tonight, and I was SO delighted to see both Spencer (my first love) and Rockie(that incredible hottie) in their revealing Halloween outfits. The other dogs present also looked nice. Alas! My guardian didn't make much of an effort to dress ME up. Sometimes I wonder if she appreciates me at all! Granted, I did growl at her when she tried to tie a kerchief around my neck -- but she didn't have to give up quite so easily. I got even with her later, though. I ate one of her dog psychology magazines and chased the cat into the closet. Said guardian really needs to learn who's in charge around here. Hopefully, we got some good pix tonight, and you can send any that you want posted to me via what's-her-name's email. It's Aoscard@aol.com. Loved the devil outfit and the witch costume, by the way. Next year, maybe my guardian will dress up in one of those~

Lulu,
I'm sorry I missed the costumes! Too bad I no longer have little Gizmo to bring with... What did your master discuss on the radio? Treats upon treats to all of you (and enjoy chasing away the ghosts and ghouls)!

Hi, Meagan!

My guardian walked around the radio station and told everybody where all the bones were buried, or something like that. She's weird. She's a ghost hunter and she can hypnotize people. She also writes books about ghosts. (No wonder she looks half dead herself most of the time, eh?)

You will have to find a dog soon.
Might I suggest an unneutered male, perhaps on the husky side? Good personality. Hot to dog paddle. You know. Granted, Rockie, Paco, and Spencer are all wild about me -- but the more the merrier, say I. Anyway, my owner has neglected me terribly because she's been so busy this past week...and I'm not a bitch who does lonely well.

Lulu,
Wow, your owner has quite a career (although I disagree about the half-dead part). Please ask your owner to contact me (via Rocky's owner). I LOVE the costume pictures. I told my parents to check out the website to see the great photos! I'm not sure who takes all of them, but they look GREAT! No new dogs yet...I'm still looking into it and considering my options.
Thanks and Happy Halloween!

Surf Shirt,

Hey, we checked out your site and there's nothing wrong with it. Might do with a few more pix, but it makes its point. Glad you enjoy our blog; you're welcome back whenever -- especially since you don't talk about politics.

Tell me honestly, have you ever seen a surfing beagle?

Meagan,

This sounds like a good deal! So, everybody...how about it?
Holiday parties are always romantic...and you might just see a stranger leashed across a crowded room. And somehow you'll know...you'll know even then, that you'll be sharing chew toys again and again~

I hope my guardian will write this down in her day-planner. Who knows? Even SHE might get lucky.

SICSA is a great organization and this does sound like a good deal.
But for now, LuLu knows enough hotties. If she attends, she will be on a very short leash and will be kept well away from the reindeer.
