LuLu's Desperate House Dogs (formerly the Bow Wow Blog)

LuLu's Desperate House Dogs is a blog about an eccentric little Beagle named LuLu, who, along with her sister Sadie (a Whippet/Terrier/Beagle blend), writes the lurid Puppies in Lust series, and absorbs local color in an idyllic, off-the-leash, canine-centered village known as Lincoln Park~

We have a pain in the canine teeth who's been attempting to slime us with dumbo advertising. If the problem continues, we'll have to go to letter ID, but it's a hassle, so I hope our friend Anon will take the hint and move on. This is a dog blog, meaning that nobody is interested in the junk he's advertising to begin with, so he's doing little more than wasting his time and ours.

Lily,

Is Karen really your breeder?

Oh, forget I barked that. I understand you're having a few problems with arthritis and allergies at present, so I wanted to write and sympathize, as well as empathize, with you. I'm way too young to have arthritis, but I do have allergies and have been sneezing up a storm. I even missed my customary walk around the commons with the hotties this afternoon! Hope we both feel better soon~

PS: Tell Spencer that I still see him in my fevered dreams.

Not pouting. Love Rocket's ears and LuLu is very pretty but Lily is my favorite dog. She is a vision in her pink outfits.

Lily,

Rockie and I shared a stick in the park again this afternoon, and I managed to beat him in a romp around the bushes. In general, I don't believe in beating around the bush(es)-- which is why I'm so popular.

By the way, do you happen to know if human dental floss can get twig particles out from under my canines?

I need the advice of someone OLDER and wiser~

Hi Karen, its me Lily. Guess what? I was born in Indiana too, but I don't remember what town. I was 2 years old when my owners came and got me in Richmond.

Lily,

You're a Hoosier? I didn't know that! I always took it for granted that you were born in England. Do you mean to say that Mayfair bark's a fake?

Lily,

Honey, ignore LuLu's digs. She almost didn't make it to the park tonight because she was too busy chasing the cats to remember what time it was. As a result, she got in only a half-hour of playtime with Rockie, the new love of her life, and she's not in the best of moods. Everybody (including LuLu) missed seeing you and Spencer out there gamboling through the leaves this evening~

Karen, I own a dog, and I love my dog, but he IS a dog. So is Lily. You don't share a mysterious connection with her. She has owners who I'm sure love her very much. While we're at it, I hope you do realize that you're not really getting emails from Lily. People humanize dogs way too much. Once in a while maybe they just need to be DOGS.

I want to send a special Thanksgiving lick to my dear friend Lily. We kid around a lot, and, I mean, she IS older than I am. But she's not feeling well right now, and nobody likes to have a mutt-mitt of a holiday.

Feel Better, Lily! You've got a whole bunch of fans...and even I love you. You're my buddy~

HiKaren, its me Lily. No, its not the flu. I'm an old lady and now that its cold out my arthritis is bothering me so I just sit on laps or in front of my fireplace all day.

Lily,

Dahling, you're not THAT old. I mean a little nip here and there, and you'll be good as new. (We dogs don't do tucks, do we?)

Well, sweetie, you missed a good time in the park this afternoon, although Rockie didn't so much as show up. (And after all the sticks I've chased for that cur!!!!) I understand he's imported some bitch from Iowa to share his Kibble. Both Gracie and I wept bitter tears -- then Buck showed up. Have you met Buck? Well, I mean, GRRRRRRR. Huge, handsome, and unattached. Gracie and I just bared our teeth and lunged.

Hope you feel better soon, sweet-ums. My Dog! One day (Thanksgiving) away from my social life, and I was devastated. I don't know how you do it. Oh, then again, you have What's-his-name to keep you company. I forgot.

Love and licks -- LuLu~

Rockie,

So what are Gracie and I -- spilled Kibble? Gracie's not high maintenance? GRACIE? Then there's moi. I've chewed through four harnesses, three leashes, and managed to escape from a prong collar. THAT isn't high maintenance? My guardian had to sell some stock to pay for my last retractable leash!

Low maintenance female dogs are not where it's at, hot licks.

But Gracie and I still love you~
