LuLu's Desperate House Dogs (formerly the Bow Wow Blog)

LuLu's Desperate House Dogs is a blog about an eccentric little Beagle named LuLu, who, along with her sister Sadie (a Whippet/Terrier/Beagle blend), writes the lurid Puppies in Lust series, and absorbs local color in an idyllic, off-the-leash, canine-centered village known as Lincoln Park~

Spencer, of course I love you! I've loved you for centuries, but you have Lily now. Still, I was touched by your offer, and, Fiver, what a sweet Corgi you are -- and a true gentleman~

Happy Valentine's Day to my favorite males~

A reply to the ASP: Wait in line, sister! You're not even six months old. Every dog has his day and every bitch has her moment.

But the moment is not yet yours, honey dew.

Rockie's mommy here:

I just wanted to let the gang know that Rockie may not be out this weekend. He is not feeling well. He does not appear sick but he is acting really sluggish and all he wants to do is sleep. If he is not feeling better by this weekend, I will have to take him to the doctor. Right now he is tucked into bed with his teddy bear. He probably will not like that I told the ladies that he sleeps with a teddy bear.

5:24 PM

Rockie is SICK? Oh, Rockie's mommy, should Miss Gracie and I kill a chicken for him? I mean, we'll be happy to. (We'd do anything for Rockie.) Or would he rather have a duck? Wait -- Miss Gracie says duck's too greasy. (So that's how those two puffs of down over in the park have managed to survive.) But we can find a nice, fat chicken. Just let us know.

Rockie's mommy...

Watching Lulu and Miss Gracie try and get a chicken or duck for Rockie would be a funny sight. = ) He is doing a little better today, at least he is eating a little but he still only wants to sleep.

I dunno, Margaret -- maybe Morey's a closet "bluenose" -- although I kind of doubt it.

Oh, Rockie, I'm so happy to read you're no longer sick -- and Miss Gracie will be as pleased as I am.
We've both been really worried!

(Not, of course, that we wouldn't be equally worried about any of our other COUNTLESS suitors if they got sick.) But you are kind of special to us.

Uh -- that raccoon's name isn't Duchess, is it?

Hey fiver
You asked what Rockies got.
Finesse. And he knows how to use it. First day back to the park, as soon as he sees lulu and Gracie, he picks up a big stick and takes it right to them. He's their hero. He knows how to read 'em and knows how to please 'em. He's amazing.

Oh dear asp, you look so wise for one so young, what should I do? I opened my mouth in jest, now I look like a jester on the blog.

Twas absolutely not the camera man's fault as that was how my guardians had me dressed that day. And I squint into the sun.

I would not care asp quite so much, but I'm French and have my pride. And Eva is such a pretty lass. I really can be cute when I've just been groomed and I'm in my birthday suit. Oh asp will she ever even look my way?

1:16 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

lulu,
I love the new pictures! They are really good. But I'm not so photogenic outdoors and my guardians keep putting me in these human 'clothes' during the winter.

So, do you think Eva will even look at me when she sees me? She is soooo beeautiful! I wish she could see me au naturale.

1:44 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nestle,

Of course Eva would still find you attractive! My guardian tells me that people always see those they loved when they were young as ageless. Then again, she also told me she wouldn't go to her high-school reunion unless she had a facelift first -- but she blathers a lot. I believe that puppy love never dies -- and frankly, I think you're pretty cute now, and I love all your great outfits.

1:13 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

lulu,
thank you for making me feel better as we males, too, care about our looks. Esp. when there is a fair lady about and we are of French stock.

I'm past the stick chewing phase lulu, age has caught up with me. It's things only of a 'sexier' side that interest me now.

But how will elegant Eva ever know that when I'm sporting my newly groomed moustache and goatee and 'dressed' au naturale, I can be so handsome still. Oh oh what can I do? I'm in love and she sees only this. Its not fair I was squinting too.
My guardian says I must go to bed and not visit the blog to forget about little Eva. :(

1:59 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nestle, don't worry. Eva's not a puppy! In fact, I have it on the best authority that she prefers "mature" males with a certain amount of sophistication and a little sorrow in their pasts.

Who is this "Callie" I keep hearing so much about in the neighborhood? She's a PUGGLE? What's a PUGGLE? That's a puzzlement. Tee-hee. I just hope she realizes that I am the queen of the puppies here.

1:57 PM

lulu,
What sorrow in my past? I'm not aware of any. I asked my guardians too what sorrows I've had, but they weren't sure either.
Before you knew me, and even on my walks with my housemate and at home, not only am I still frisky , I can still be a lil stinker, I've been told. But I'm not about to tell on myself :)
BTW, of what age is this beautiful Miss Eva?
That's pretty neat there's a dog named after you, lulu.

Nestle,

You looked pretty perky when I saw you in the park tonight. But you'll never believe what my guardian did when we got home! She turned the hose on me! Washed away all that great mud I rolled in!

Then I threw up.

What good is suffering unless you can get even, right?

Leapin' Lizards! If I've got this straight, Ken, you've named your TAMALES LuLu?

You are so beyond strange, Ken, but thanks for the thought~

lulu,
I can't believe you threw up. Beagles are tough I thought, not prone to getting sick when hosed. I have to get bathed and hosed every 6 wks, its not so bad, really.

lulu,
I need your advice.
My eyes squint in the sun, and after my park walk they sometimes blur and tear. My dr. says its allergies. I'm trying to read what my beloved EVA has elequently written--something about a large (grand) pizza. I must meet her. We could share a large anchovy pizza, like the french do. What do you think?

12:47 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Beautiful Eva,
I remember you so. And I miss you so. I am older now, but with age comes wisdom and though very sprite, I'm mellow at times too like an aging french wine. I have no interest in any other but you Eva.

Are you happy? Do you really remember me and the evenings we spent together in Paris by the Louvre?

Oh, Eva. I wish we could be together again. You would be proud to touch paws with me under a star-filled, warm spring heavenly sky. I would have my freshly groomed goatee and a dab of french cologne. You are still so beautiful. I would do anything for you. True, we always had Paris, but there can be more. A romantic cruise perhaps.
